Dimensions of the Universe

We cannot even imagine how they would look

According to the string theory there are a total of 10 dimensions plus one of time. In this article I will explain each one of them and don't worry if you are not able to understand or imagine it. It is perfectly normal to do so.

THE 1ST DIMENSION(1D)

There are three dimensions that surround us on a daily basis, length, width and depth.(x, y and z axes respectively). The first dimension gives us the length(x-axis). To visualize it think about a straight line only has the property of length and nothing else. That's 1-D.

THE 2ND DIMENSION(2-D)

To the first dimension if you add Y-axis(width) then you get a 2-D object. For example visualize a simple triangle. That's 2-D. Now you have 2 dimensions, length and width.

THE 3RD DIMENSION(3-D)

The 3rd dimension involves length, depth and width and give objects a sense of area and cross-section. Imagine the doughnut in the above picture. It has length, depth(volume)and width doesn't it? The doughnut you are visualizing is a 3 dimensional object and so are most things in our daily life.

Now from here imagining will become a little difficult task for you. Beyond the 3rd dimension there are 7 other dimensions which cannot be directly seen by us but influence our existence itself.

4TH DIMENSION

According to scientists the 4th dimension is Time. In a 3-D world time flows in only one direction and past, present and future are separate. The arrow of time always moves forward and not backward. However in the 4th dimension time doesn't have a direction. The past, present and future happen in the same moment. For eg: If you travel back in time in the 4th dimension then you would have experienced your past but still remain in your present since past, present and future are the same in the 4th dimension.

5TH DIMENSION

This is where we have the possibility of possible worlds arises. If we could get a peek into the dimension we could see a world different from our own and it would help us compare the differences and similarities between the 2 worlds of different dimensions.

6TH DIMEENSION

In this dimension we could see a plane of possible worlds where we could compare and position all the worlds which started with the same initial conditions as ours as in the Big Bang even though the subsequent developments were different. Theoretically mastering the 5th and 6th dimension will give you the ability to travel through time. Note that it could only happen if humans are able to exist in this dimension which we don't know yet.

7TH DIMENSION

In the seventh dimension you have access to worlds which start with different initial conditions. Unlike the 5th and 6th dimension where the initial conditions were same and subsequent actions were different ,in the 7th dimension everything is different from the Dawn of Time.

8TH DIMENSION

The 8th dimension gives us another new plane of histories of universes of the 7th dimension where the initial conditions were different and then branches out with an infinite amount of subsequent happenings and they are aptly called “infinities”.

9TH DIMENSION

The 9th dimension goes even deeper. We can compare all possible universe histories beginning with the possible laws of physics and initial conditions.

10TH DIMENSION

In the final dimension there exists everything imaginable and possible. Scientists are still working on further information about this dimension as little is known of it.

Well that was a great journey but not able to go further eh? Is your brain showing you the error message? Not able to think further? Its perfectly fine. I will give you the explanation in the next paragraph.

Now the 10 dimensions are the natural limit for humans. Beyond this there may or may not be other dimensions but these are the ones we can sense or know or see or imagine about. Our brain simply doesn't have the requirements to think higher than that.

I wanted to write about how all of them exist together also but I myself am unclear about that topic so once I understand that clearly I will post another article on that.

If you liked the article don't forget to clap and follow if you haven't already!!!

Till we meet again, Goodbye!!!!
